For the sake of this debate, “separating the art from the artists” is differentiating one’s appreciation of an artist’s music from their disapproval for the artist’s immoral actions – if any. However, those who “separate the art from the artists” can still disapproves the immoral actions of their idols but at the same time still consume the artworks of their idols.

For the sake of this debate, progressive political candidates means a political candidate that represent a political party that represents the values of liberal ideologies in different political aspects. For example, they are supporting the ideas of protecting women’s rights and minorities in conservative nations, welcoming the help and cooperation with foreign nations, and opposing traditional values. Simply put, they are the ones that are proposing and proliferating ideologies that are perceived as bad by the traditional or conservative society.
